The unique approach of Kiguzo's Absence Tracking System calls upon the education, health and technology sectors to work together and coordinate their interventions forming a seamless loop to ensure the support and wellbeing of all children in the community. KIGUZO's Absence Tracking System coordinates an innovative Community Education Worker role, coupled with well-designed information and communication technologies, to help track children at high risk for absenteeism, and provide communities with the necessary data to understand the forces driving high rates of absenteeism in their community and address them with new approaches to improvement of health on the individual and community levels. The System will always be deployed in two phases:
- The first phase will be a pilot project focused on the implementation of Kiguzo's Absence Tracking System which will provide the tools for communities to address individual health, as well the foundation to address specific health threats affecting their community.
- The projected next steps for Kiguzo is both expansion of the Absence Tracking System, as well as providing new and innovative tools for improvement of community health in the future.
